Christmas 2006
For Christmas 2006, we went to an unseasonably warm PA (no snow this time) to celebrate with Megan's family. These are photos of the gift exchange. We had a quiet dinner with my parents before the trek to Pennsylvania, but I forgot to bring my camera that night.

San Francisco 2006
Megan made me promise to take her on a vacation before I jump into another life-consuming job. We had a couple AirTran vouchers, so we booked flights to San Francisco and took three full days to explore the city. Mom and Dad kept Alex for us (thanks!) and we rode cable cars up and down those famous hills. Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Chinatown, Japantown, Union Square... we saw every bit of SF that we could squeeze in. Megan found some spiffy craft books at a huge Japanese bookstore, and I got to spend hours at the SF-MoMA.
We shared a great mexican dinner with Lisa & Steve who just happened to be out there the same week we were. I took dozens of photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, of Alcatraz, and of Ghirardelli Square. There's lots more we didn't see, and will probably venture back that way eventually.
Crafty
Megan has become quite the artist! Armed with a new sewing machine and serger, she is making purses, messenger bags, bookbags, kids' clothes... here are a few samples.
Christmas 2005
Each year, we celebrate Thanksgiving with one side of our family, then Christmas with the other. In 2005, we went to PA to celebrate Thanksgiving with Megan's family, then to Alabama to celebrate Christmas with Rod's family. Of course, with this arrangement, we usually do a session of Christmas presents at Thanksgiving.
Halloween 2005
This was the first year Alex dressed up for Halloween. We went to Publix, our local grocery, for their family-friendly festivities, then to Steve & Lisa's for a brief visit. When we got in the car to leave, Alex announced, "I hungry." Lacking cash, I stopped at Home Depot to pick up something so I could get cash back while Alex entertained the staff, as they were having a very slow night. Then we found a pizza buffet and he slept all the way home.
